Determine Upright Frame Height
Vertical spacing of shelf beams must be determined before finding the frame height. Normal practice is to place first level of loaded pallets directly on the floor. Above the first level of pallets, allow at least 4" of clearance between load and the bottom of the first level of beams. Add the depth of the beam to find the top of the first beam level. Convert this distance into the next highest number that is divisible by "4". Then, to find the minimum upright frame height, multiply this number by the number of levels of beams in the rack.
