Tunnel Bay

When a row of rack gets too long it becomes inefficient for the lift truck driver to move from one rack row to another. Tunnel bays allow you to bridge selective rack and create cross aisles. We suggest ten foot of underclearance below a tunnel bay. OSHA requires that you have wire decking on all beam levels within a tunnel bay to prevent product from falling on pedestrians and lift truck drivers. Tunnel bays should not be placed at the end of a row but somewhere in the middle of a long row. Long rows of racking can have multiple tunnel bays.
